A uniquely valuable resource

This is a fairy unique book on structural and stress analysis. It provides key equations but doesn't typically provide their derivations. Instead, the emphasis is on developing a good conceptual understanding of the equations and structural behavior in general. This aim is fostered by summaries of key points within the chapters, and excellent sets of conceptual questions and mini-tests at the ends of the chapters. This type of conceptual understanding is vital for practicing structural engineers, yet most structural engineers lack it, so this book helps to fill a serious gap. For the same reason, I've bought a copy of this book for all of the structural engineers in my engineering firm, and we'll be using it as a resource for our in-house continuing education program.
All of this said, I do need to note that this book doesn't cover all of the key topics in structural and stress analysis. Specifically, among the topics largely or entirely missing are analysis of frames and arches, analysis of plates and shells, inelastic analysis, and structural dynamics. Nevertheless, the book still covers plenty of important topics, including some fairly advanced topics (eg, complex stresses and theories of elastic failure), so I highly recommend it.
